These Obbligato film caps have a solid copper case, soldered copper lead-out wires and individually wrapped. All measure very close to rated value, max 5% but typically 1-2%. Wound tight with no voids and give a very transparent, smooth sound.

Sound: Analogue is the word that keeps popping-up in my head when trying to describe these capacitors. They have a rich texture and produce and open and smooth image with realistic dynamics and good retrieval of ambient information. They have slightly less depth than a Clarity Cap DTAC but are also very detailed and never get harsh. They seem to have a sort of ?detailed warmth? about them. Very nice especially when you look at their price!

Obbligato Film in Oil Capacitor

In the audio world there aren't many low cost high quality film caps. Some of the one's commonly available are a little edgy sounding, add sssh, and sing along with the music due to loose windings, voids or poor quality films etc. When we were sourcing parts for the LD91 project we had a difficult time finding reasonably priced large value caps for the WE connection. At 2004 Electronica Asia I met a rep from the 5th largest cap manufacturer in Asia. A view of the factory showed new production machinery from Italy and Germany in a spotlessly clean environment. The company was sympathetic to our audio cap issues. Samples were made with extra tight winding, no voids and thick coated aluminum film imported from Germany.

 Super Sound SCR Tin Teflon Capacitor

These are special purpose film caps from Japan and Teflon tin foil caps from France. The Teflon may be the ultimate coupling and bypass cap. 1000V rating allows use in many 211/845 circuits - check your operating voltages. These take a while to settle in but are ultimately smooth and extremely dynamic sounding. IMO better than silver caps. And...they are reasonably sized to fit tight places - 36mm long.
